Bathroom design ideas :: Lighting & details

Back onto my bathroom renovation this week. Seems like it has been ages but I can only fit this little reno in between my client's projects.
I was looking for some tiling ideas when I stumbled across this bathroom design by Ara Design Studio. They have soften what could have been another clinical bathroom with the use of feature lighting, rectangle tiles and bevelled mirror panels.

The combination of the little vintage Japanese lantern and the non-rectified glazed terracotta tiles creates a soft feel to room whilst the use of mirrors gives the illusion that the room is much bigger and lighter.

Great character bathroom!

Have fun.

  1. This bathroom is absolutely gorgeous - especially in love with those tiles. A bit rustic, a bit imperfect...right down my street. I look forward to seeing your final photos. I know what it's like - my houses are NEVER done, because they are always at the bottom of the queue too! Clients come first!

  2. Allow me to also express my love for those tiles! They are absolutely stunning! How were they put on? Were they just laid and put together with mortar and cement, or was there a base, especially around the bathtub, for them to be laid out on?

Thanks for your thoughts. I read every comment and appreciate your feedback.
Have fun, Lisa
